US Route 66 is one of the original and most well-known highways in the United States. God has given us our own Route 66 (66 books—39 Old Testament and 27 New Testament) which is even older, and ought to be well-known by all Christians, as they are a “lamp to our feet and a light to our path.” (Psalm 119:105)

God’s word is a treasure. We are called to hear, read, study, meditate on, memorize, and obey His word:

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deuteronomy 6:6-9)

“Blessed is the man” whose “delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:1-3)

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11)
